staying at Kingford House you will find that there is plenty to see
and do in the area including taking the Cliff Railway up to Lynmouth
where you can get a gentle carriage ride to the famous Valley of the
Rocks with its wild goats that was the setting for R.D. Blackmore's
Lorna Doone and which was later used by the BBC for their dramatisation
of the book, costumes of which can be seen at the Tit Bits Exhibition
in the Town Hall.

is also plenty to do and enjoy if you are looking for something a
bit more active, such as the very popular walks around the area including
the south west Way that almost passes our front door. There are also
the pleasant walk alongside the Lyn River to Watersmeet or up to the
Foreland Lighthouse at Countisbury. There is also plenty of cycle
tracks around for you to use, including the famous Tarka Trail that
you can easily pick up at Barnstaple Railway Station were there is
also a bike hire shop.
